Art Or Math?
When asked this question, one needs to think about the origin of art. The ‘Cavemen’ drew on their stone caves images depicting everyday life. What they didn’t realize is that what they were drawing were some of the first forms of geometry and math! By creating small stick figures, they would be practicing drawing lines (Line Segments as we now call it). The heads of the stick figures would be circles, who wants an ugly looking circle? By drawing these almost perfect circles they would be creating the basis for Geometry. Who’s smart now? So, in the end, when asked this question I must answer by saying that math does indeed influence art.
